Be Well Rooted : The Power of Firm Foundations

What helps you remain steadfast, grounded, consistent, and steady --no matter what life brings?

This is the question my Bible Study Fellowship notes started out with. So I thought for a moment, “WHAT is it that helps me remain steadfast “against all odds”?

“A large tree survives gale-fore winds because a stabilizing underground root system allows its branches and trunk to bend without breaking. Similarly, when God’s people constantly draw life and strength from God Himself, they stand strong when battered by the world.”

Believers remain steadfast, not because they are strong within themselves, but because their all-powerful God remains faithful and true.

For many years I used this saying or manta BE WELL ROOTED. In fact, if you’ve been around that long, you’ll remember very well! It is a constant reminder to do just that. #BeWellRooted - let your roots be so firmly established in your Almighty + Sovereign God, no storm of the world will allow you to waver. Your strength comes not from your own power (PRAISE GOD FOR THAT!), but from Him who was, and is, and is to come.

 

17 so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, 18 may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, 19 and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.
